LAPD Employees File Federal Lawsuit Against City Over Vaccine Mandate

California | September 12, 2021

A group of six employees with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) filed a lawsuit in federal court against the city on Sept. 11, claiming that the city’s mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy violates their rights.

The lawsuit challenges both the city’s mandate and LAPD’s alleged failure to provide a process to submit requests for medical or religious exemptions. The plaintiffs include LAPD employees who have contracted COVID-19 and recovered who believe they should be exempt from the mandate…. (Excerpts from the Epoch Time)

Californians Protest Forced Vaccinations of Police

California | September 12, 2021

Almost 100 people gathered in front of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) headquarters on Sept. 8 to protest the government’s policy of forcing frontline officers, such as police officers and healthcare workers, to be vaccinated against the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus.

California over the past few months has continuously attempted to implement a mandatory vaccine policy. On Aug. 5, California Department of Public Health officials demanded that all healthcare workers be fully vaccinated by Sept. 30, leading to the protest of hundreds of healthcare workers.

At the local government level, the Los Angeles City Council passed a mandatory policy on Aug. 18 requiring all employees, including those of the Police and Fire Departments, to be fully vaccinated by early October, except for those who had obtained exemptions…. (Excerpts from the Epoch Times)

I received a major healing. But I feel the fear of God in telling you about it. This is not my miracle. This is God’s miracle. And, in sharing it with you, you understand and feel my trepidation. Here are my points of concern:

We are ashamed to admit it when we are sick. I have long been part of the Word of Faith movement, and it works strongly in me. But in our movement, it is sometimes difficult to ever admit you are sick. I believe we must follow Christ’s model. When the twelve disciples thought Lazarus was asleep, Jesus cleared the air: “Then Jesus said to them, plainly, ‘Lazarus is dead’” (John 11:4).

Many have lost loved ones to Covid. This makes my celebration bittersweet. I am heartsick at the vast loss around the world. Most acute is my devastation at the early draconian measures, when grandparents could not say goodbye to their grandchildren. Mechelle and I welcomed our first granddaughter only one year ago. The idea of not being able to see her again is an agony which takes my breath away.

Now, let me tell you what happened. I had just completed the tent crusade in Sacramento, when I prepared to leave for Batavia, New York, in anticipation of what would be our greatest leadership gathering ever.

How strange that I and everyone who attended were so supernaturally protected in all the tent crusades, to be personally sideswiped by one irresponsible action which was aimed against me when I was far away from the tent. But, since I got a miracle, there is no need for recrimination here… (Excerpts from Mario Murillo Blog)

After Recall, Newsom to Require COVID Vaccine Proof or Negative Test at Smaller Indoor Events

California | August 23, 2021

Californians wanting to attend events with more than 1,000 people will have to prove they have received a COVID-19 vaccine.

The California Department of Public Health announced attending indoor events with 1,000 or more guests will require either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within the last 72 hours. The requirement previously was triggered at events with 5,000 or more attendees.

“The Delta variant has proven to be highly transmissible, making it easier to spread in large crowds where people are near each other for long periods of time,” CDPH Director Dr. Tomás J. Aragón said. “By requiring individuals to be vaccinated, or test negative for COVID-19 at large events, we are decreasing the risk of infection, hospitalization and death.”

The department also announced self-attestation to verify a person’s vaccination status no longer would be accepted.

The change will take place on Sept. 20, six days after Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (pictured above) recall election. It will remain in effect until Nov. 1. CDPH told CalMatters its chose the date to give businesses time to prepare for the change.

Newsom hinted on Tuesday the state could see mandatory water rationing in the weeks after the recall election since pleas for voluntary conservation measures fell on deaf ears…. (Excerpts from the Virginia Star)

Leader Of SEIU, California’s Largest State Worker Union, Opposes Newsom’s Deadline To Verify Vaccinations

California | July 30, 2021

California’s largest state worker union has demanded government officials “come to the bargaining table” over Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom’s mandate requiring all state employees to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination by August 2 or be subject to weekly testing.

Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 1000 President Richard Louis Brown posted a letter to social media on Wednesday to the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR). Written by the union’s chief counsel, the letter claimed “the Governor abruptly turned away from the legal requirements of notice and bargaining” by changing work conditions for the local’s 96,000 members.

Brown said he “did not consult” the union’s board before the document was drafted, a move that has reportedly divided members, according to The Sacramento Bee… (Excerpts from the Daily Wire)

Mask Mandate Issued in California County Where 9 in 10 Residents Are Vaccinated

California | July 28, 2021

A mask mandate was re-implemented in California’s San Mateo County, where nearly 90 percent of residents are fully vaccinated, according to officials this week.

Starting Monday, all residents—including those who are vaccinated—will have to wear face masks in government offices, health clinics, and other public facilities. Masks are not mandated—but recommended—inside other public areas such as restaurants, gyms, theaters, and grocery stores, according to a press release from the county.

About 89 percent of residents aged 12 and older in San Mateo, located south of San Francisco, are vaccinated against COVID-19, county data shows. COVID-19 is the illness caused by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus.

But despite the high vaccination rate, the county officials said masking is needed due to the “highly transmissible Delta variant” that has become more prevalent around the United States. As a result, it explained, “health officers around the Bay Area have recommended that everyone wear masks indoors, regardless of their vaccination status.”

“The County of San Mateo, out of an abundance of caution and to protect public health, is requiring face coverings as of Monday for the public when indoors at County offices, clinics, and other publicly accessible facilities,” the news release stated. “The masking requirement is similar to guidelines in place before the state’s June 15, 2021, reopening.”… (Excerpts from the Epoch Times)
