Vaccinated People Easily Transmit COVID-19 Delta Variant in Households: UK Study

International | October 29, 2021

The Delta COVID-19 variant can easily transmit from vaccinated people to their household members, said a recent UK study, although its researchers concluded that vaccinations and boosters are the way forward.

A year-long study from the Imperial College London published in The Lancet on Thursday found that the Delta variant is still highly transmissible within a vaccinated population.

“By carrying out repeated and frequent sampling from contacts of COVID-19 cases, we found that vaccinated people can contract and pass on infection within households, including to vaccinated household members,” Dr. Anika Singanayagam, co-lead author of the study, said in a statement.

The findings, Singanayagam added, provide some insight into why the Delta variant is “continuing to cause high COVID-19 case numbers … even in countries with high vaccination rates.”.. (Excerpts from the Epoch Times)

Over 40 Police in Australian State Stood Down After Refusing Vaccine

International | October 18, 2021

Over 40 police in the Australian state of Victoria have been stood down, and could lose their jobs after refusing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

Victoria Police confirmed 34 police officers and nine Protective Services Officers (PSOs) did not comply with the state’s vaccination order for all “authorised workers” that was issued by the Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton and Chief Commissioner Shane Patton, reported the Herald Sun.

Those officers have been referred to the Professional Standards Command for failing to follow the chief’s instructions and will face disciplinary action—including potential dismissal.

Currently, they have been stood down and have been directed to take accrued leave. The police union, the Police Association, supports mandatory vaccinations.

The move comes after the deadline for all “authorised” workers in Victoria to receive one dose of the vaccine passed on Oct. 15. The deadline for the second dose will by Nov. 26… (Excerpts from the Epoch Times)

The world deserves to know the truth about COVID’s origins

International | September 16, 2021

We owe it to everyone around the world to uncover the pandemic’s origins so future generations do not have to suffer through a similar catastrophe

The U.S. intelligence community has completed its investigation into the origins of COVID-19. As feared, its findings were inconclusive: a “moderate confidence” COVID-19 originated from a lab incident, but a “low degree of confidence” that COVID-19 was of natural origins. What the Community clearly determined is that to fully uncover COVID-19’s origins, the People’s Republic of China must provide investigations with greater access.  The world deserves to know the truth.

Right now, it is nearly impossible to have all the facts because the Chinese Communist Party has blocked critical information and failed to cooperate with the global community. It leaves all of us asking: “What is China hiding?”

What we do know about China’s risky virus research program can only be analyzed through the knowledge of the communist regime’s suppression of the truth—leaving many vital questions unanswered. We know the Wuhan Institute of Virology was performing potentially dangerous research on coronaviruses.

This lab, a biosafety level 4 lab, was approved to conduct potentially dangerous gain-of-function research. The purpose of gain-of-function research is to mutate a virus by giving it new properties—making it more deadly or more transmissible as a result. We also know American taxpayers provided hundreds of thousands of dollars for research at the Wuhan Lab. However, Dr. Anthony Fauci denies these dollars were intended for gain-of-function research… (Excerpt from Fox News)

Pro-China social media campaign hits new countries, blames U.S. for COVID

International | September 9, 2021
A misinformation campaign on social media in support of Chinese government interests has expanded to new languages and platforms, and it even tried to get people to show up to protests in the United States, researchers at security company FireEye and Google said. The operation has spread to thousands of handles on dozens of sites around the world. China is now employing misinformation techniques that Russia has used for years. False information about COVID-19 has been a major focus. Accounts on social media in Russian, German, Spanish and other languages have asserted that the novel coronavirus emerged in the United States before China and that it was developed by the U.S. military. Multiple Russian-language LiveJournal accounts used identical wording: “U.S. Ft. Detrick was the source of COVID-19,” referring to the U.S. Army’s Fort Detrick installation in Maryland.
Other priorities for the group include criticizing fugitive Chinese propagandist Guo Wengui and his ally, former Donald Trump strategist Steve Bannon, and exploiting concerns about anti-Asian racism… (Excerpts from Reuters)

Sweden Announces It Will Remove Most Remaining COVID-19 Restrictions

International | September 8, 2021

Sweden announced it will remove most of its remaining COVID-19 restrictions starting this month, according to a news release on Tuesday.

An announcement from the Swedish government said that restrictions on public venues such as restaurants, theaters, and stadiums will be removed on Sept. 29.

As most adults are vaccinated, Sweden has started to ease some restrictions during a summer lull in the pandemic. Deaths from COVID-19, the disease caused by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, have remained low in the country in recent weeks.

Vaccine passports, which are being rolled out in several U.S. cities, France, Italy, Switzerland, Israel, and in other areas, might be mandated in the future for “major public gatherings,” according to the government. Exceptions will be made for children below the age of 16 and for individuals who should not be vaccinated for medical reasons…. (Excerpts from the Epoch Times)

European Union Votes to Reimpose Travel Restrictions on Americans amid Delta Variant Surge

International | August 30, 2021

European Union nations voted Monday to reimpose limits on non-essential travel from the United States amid the dramatic increase in domestic COVID cases.

While a majority of EU ambassadors decided to reimpose the restrictions, it is up to the discretion of each member state whether to adopt the recommendation. To waive the travel cutbacks, countries can require visitors to present verification of vaccination as a condition of entry.
