‘Exactly Like History Repeating Itself’: North Korean Defector Yeonmi Park On ‘Candace’ Warns Americans

International | November 11, 2021

North Korean defector Yeonmi Park joined The Daily Wire’s Candace Owens for Tuesday night’s episode of “Candace,” where Park warned Americans about creeping authoritarianism in the United States and detailed some of the horrors she endured in North Korea.

North Koreans were promised socialism and “free” stuff, like health care, Park said, which led to devastating oppression. And it can happen here, the 28-year-old warned.

“I think this is exactly like history repeating itself, right now,” Park said. “This is what shocked me, for me as a North Korean, when they said there’s inequality in America, I was like, hallelujah, that means you can rise above somebody else, because there’s no inequality in North Korea, everybody is dirty poor.”

“Poverty” is the worst that can happen, not “inequality,” Park asserted… (Excerpts from the Daily Wire)

China upholding Iranian regime with oil purchases

District of Columbia, International | November 5, 2021

Chinese purchases of Iranian oil have steadily increased since President Biden arrived in office, with Beijing‘s blatant flouting of U.S. sanctions on the Islamic republic providing an economic lifeline to hard-liners in Tehran. The White House has come under increasing criticism for tolerating Beijing‘s purchases, which analysts say amount to indirect Chinese support for Iran‘s nuclear weapons program, as well as Tehran‘s militant posturing and rejections of U.S. and European attempts to restore the 2015 Obama-era nuclear deal. Talks on reviving the nuclear deal have stalled but will resume Nov. 29 in Vienna, European Union officials announced this week. It is unclear whether Washington and Tehran can move closer to resuscitating the agreement. Covert Chinese support for Iran‘s economy could make hard-line Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi even less motivated to negotiate… (Excerpts from the Washington Times)

Rebekah Koffler: Biden nominee prefers Soviet system to free-market economy – don’t let them destroy the US

District of Columbia | October 26, 2021

President Joe Biden’s choice for comptroller of the currency, Saule Omarova, wants to transform America’s free market economy into a Soviet-style system – the same kind of central planning that destroyed her native country, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. As an immigrant from the former Soviet Union and communism survivor, I know firsthand the damage central planning can do to an economy and to lives. United States senators must reject “Comrade” Omarova’s radical ideology which includes ideas like nationalizing banks, empowering federal government apparatchiks to set pay scales and prices, and enabling academics to oversee investments so they can finance social experiments. It all will doom America to the same destiny as the country I fled 30 years ago.

Omarova, a winner in her home country of the “Lenin” award, praised her native Soviet socialist system because of the lack of gender pay gap. She derided the free market economy for producing a Wall Street “a–hole culture” and expressed contempt for our “dysfunctional” financial system.

As someone who grew up standing in line for hours to shop in an over-crowded grocery store or a bare-shelved department store, let me tell you about Omarova’s “wondrous” socialist system. The socialist economy didn’t produce enough of anything and everything that was manufactured domestically was barely usable. Why? There was no incentive for anyone to work hard or innovate, because everyone was paid the same regardless of effort. Government bureaucrats, like Omarova, made it impossible for people to improve their lot and better themselves by controlling every aspect of their lives.

We had a saying under communism: “They pretend to pay us, and we pretend to work.” There can’t be a gender pay gap when there’s no pay. Whether a garbage collector or a doctor, the salary was never enough to support a family, spurring people to seek seedy alternatives like corruption and black market dealings. Meanwhile, the Communist Party ruling elites were the Soviet version of Omarova’s Wall Street “a–holes,” except they didn’t produce any wealth… (Excerpts from Fox News)

Biden’s Pick For Top Banking Regulator Refuses To Hand Over Thesis On Marxism

District of Columbia | October 15, 2021

Saule Omarova, President Joe Biden’s nominee to head the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), is refusing to hand over to the Senate Banking Committee her university thesis on Marxism written during her time in the Soviet Union. Republican Sen. Pat Toomey, ranking member of the committee, had sent a letter to Omarova on Oct. 6 asking the Cornell Law School professor to hand over her Moscow State University thesis, titled “Karl Marx’s Economic Analysis and the Theory of Revolution in The Capital,” by Oct. 13, citing the committee’s need to “fully assess the fitness of individuals to serve in Senate-confirmed executive and independent agency positions.” Omarova, who grew up in the Soviet Union, had scrubbed mention of the thesis from her resume, the Washington Free Beacon reported. She also praised the now-defunct socialist government for its lack of “gender pay gap” in 2019…. (Excerpts from the Daily Caller)

Chinese military seeks to dominate from space, deploys war-fighting tools into orbit

International | October 14, 2021

China’s People’s Liberation Army is building and deploying an array of space warfare tools, including anti-satellite missiles and cyberweapons, which will be used to dominate Earth by controlling space, according to an Air Force report. The report by the China Aerospace Studies Institute, part of the Air University, also blames China for spreading a huge amount of space debris, mainly from a 2007 anti-satellite missile test. The ASAT test destroyed a weather satellite and left more than 3,400 pieces of floating space junk that will threaten satellites and manned spacecraft for years.
“China’s military has designated outer space as a warfighting domain — described as a ‘new commanding height of war’ — that China must fight for and seize if it is to win future wars,” the report stated. “People’s Liberation Army (PLA) officers and analysts assert that space is the ultimate high ground, and that whoever controls space controls the Earth.” … (Excerpts from the Washington Times)

Kamala Harris decries nation’s ‘shameful past’ to promote Biden’s social welfare package

District of Columbia | October 14, 2021

Vice President Kamala Harris pitched the administration’s massive spending plans to American Indian leaders by saying it would help the nation own up for its “shameful past” in which European explorers “ushered in a wave of devastation for Native Americans.” She made the pitch to build support for President Biden’s $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill and $3.5 trillion social welfare plans, which are stalled in Congress. Speaking remotely to the National Congress of American Indians 78th Annual Convention in Portland, Oregon, on Tuesday, Ms. Harris said that Columbus Day, recognized by President Biden as Indigenous Peoples Day, is an occasion to “speak truth about our nation’s history.”… (Excerpts from the Washington Times)
