Afghan Refugees in US Indicted on Assault Charges
Wisconsin | September 24, 2021
Two Afghan refugees have been indicted on assault charges stemming from incidents at a military base in Wisconsin that houses thousands of recently evacuated Afghan nationals.
A federal grand jury indicted Bahrullah Noori, 20, on charges that he tried to molest two underage boys. The grand jury issued a separate indictment against Mohammad Haroom Imaad, 32, on charges that he strangled and suffocated his wife. Noori and Imaad were among 12,500 refugees airlifted from Afghanistan to Fort McCoy during the U.S. military withdrawal last month.
The cases are likely to stoke concerns about the government’s vetting process for the 100,000 refugees brought to the United States during the airlift…(Excerpts from Washington Free Beacon)

Here’s Why The Bulk Of Afghan Refugees Are Heading To Purple States . . .
California, Texas, Wisconsin | September 17, 2021
The federal government is now preparing to relocate thousands of Afghan refugees in a number of swing states. President Joe Biden is planning to ask Congress for funding to bring around 95,000 people from Afghanistan to the U.S. in total. A senior administration official said the funding would be used to help bring 65,000 people by the end of September, and an additional 30,000 people over the course of one year. The Department of Defense (DOD) has been preparing for up to 30,000 Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) applicants to be housed at U.S. Army bases such as Fort McCoy in Wisconsin and Fort Bliss in Texas. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is responsible for security and health screenings in order to vet the incoming refugees. The White House informed governors and mayors Wednesday that the first group of refugees — numbered at around 37,000 — are expected to be resettled in the coming weeks. California will receive the largest number at around 5,300 refugees, and Texas will receive the next largest number at around 4,500… (Excerpts from the Daily Caller)

Wisconsinites Deserve a Plan for Afghan Refugees
Wisconsin | August 24, 2021
The following is a letter that I sent to Governor Evers last Friday. I’ve included it here in its entirety:
August 20, 2021
Governor Tony Evers
115 East, State Capitol
Madison WI 53702
The nation has watched with alarm the unfolding chaos in Afghanistan as President Biden pulled the rug out from under the Afghan army, resulting in the Taliban seizing power of the nation in under 240 hours. While the President’s precipitous and poorly planned actions have placed the Afghan people in danger and guaranteed the death and oppression of Afghan women, he has also made our own nation less safe from the threat posed by terrorists.
And as people flee Afghanistan, the Biden Administration has no clear plan to safely manage the massive influx of thousands of people per day from a known terrorist training ground, some without even basic identification, who may be transported directly to communities in the United States. .. Wisconsin Leaders React to Afghan Refugees Coming to the State
Wisconsin | August 22, 2021
There are more questions than answers about the likely thousands of Afghans who are coming to Wisconsin.
The Pentagon on Tuesday said 22,000 Afghan refugees will be sent to military bases in Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin. The Wisconsin base is Fort McCoy.
Gov. Evers said he will welcome the Afghans.
“Just as they protected us in serving our country and helped keep our troops safe, we owe it to them to protect and keep them safe,” the governor said in a statement.
No one knows just how many refugees will end up in Wisconsin. And no one knows for sure where they will go after arriving at Fort McCoy.
Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-Wis.) says he has concerns about what we don’t know.
“I am deeply disturbed by reports that as many as 5,000 Afghans per day are headed to the United States—many without valid visas or even basic identity documents. Biden administration officials have said they plan to transport many of these individuals to Fort McCoy in Wisconsin—but have declined to elaborate on how many will come, what screening will be carried out prior to arrival, or what will happen after they land here,” Tiffany said.
Tiffany also said he is worried about a “catch and release” policy that will allow Afghan refugees to essentially walk away from Fort McCoy after they arrive.
Derrick Van Orden, a former Navy SEAL and Republican candidate for Congress in western Wisconsin, said the Biden Administration must answer basic questions after the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan…. (Excerpts from the Epoch Times)
