204 million Covid vaccines administered, plus 150 million probable infections. Have we reached herd immunity yet?

More than 204.4 million Americans have received at least one dose of the Covid vaccine, or 61.6 percent of the total population, and 173.5 million are fully vaccinated, or 52.3 percent of the population, according to the latest numbers from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
In addition, the Institutes for Health Metrics and Evaluation report there have been approximately 36.7 million confirmed cases of Covid in the U.S., and as many as 150.25 million probable estimated infections.
So, are we reaching herd immunity? We might be closer than previously thought.
A recent study from researchers in Israel has found that herd immunity is being conferred both by the vaccine and through natural transmission of the virus, “This study demonstrated that natural immunity confers longer lasting and stronger protection against infection, symptomatic disease and hospitalization caused by the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, compared to the BNT162b2 two-dose vaccine-induced immunity. Individuals who were both previously infected with SARS-CoV-2 and given a single dose of the vaccine gained additional protection against the Delta variant.”… (Excerpts from the Daily Torch)
